Bangladeshi President Accuses Yunus Of Being Prevented From Going On A Foreign Tour And

Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin has exposed the rule of the interim government of Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus as soon as the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) government is formed. The President made serious allegations against Yunus and said that he ignored the constitutional presidency of the country.

Regarding Yunus’s rule, President Shahabuddin said in an interview to Bangladeshi media Kaler Kantho, “In those one and a half years, I was not in any discussion, yet various kinds of conspiracies are being hatched against me. There have been many attempts to destroy the peace and order of the country forever and create a constitutional vacuum. I was firm on my decision. That is why none of their conspiracies succeeded. Especially many conspiracies to remove the President through non-constitutional means failed.” That’s why the experience of one and a half years in Bangabhavan cannot be called good.

The President further said, “Today I have no hesitation in saying that the interim government has conspired in an unconstitutional manner to bring in an old Chief Justice and replace me with someone else. I came to know about it. An advisor to the government contacted the judge. He held a meeting for an hour. But, the judge did not agree. He clearly said, ‘He is the President, he is constitutionally supreme, above everything else. I do not sit in that place in an unconstitutional manner. Could.’ Due to the strength of the judge, that attempt of the government also failed in the end.”

Regarding whatever decisions were taken in Bangladesh in the last one and a half years, the Bangladeshi President directly accused Yunus and said that the Chief Advisor did not follow any rule of the Constitution. He also alleged that Yunus did not provide any information to the Bangladeshi President about any of his visits, or what was discussed during those visits, as required by the Constitution.

He said, “He must have gone on foreign trips 14 to 15 times. He never told me. He never came to me.” Regarding the agreement signed between America and Bangladesh during Yunus’s rule, the Bangladeshi President said that he was not given any information about it.

President Shahabuddin alleged that he was used until Yunus was made the chief advisor. After this, Yunus did not come to him even once, nor met him nor wrote any letter.

Making serious allegations, Bangladeshi President Shahabuddin said, “Yunus tried to hide me completely. He stopped my foreign tours twice. The press wing was completely destroyed. We cannot give any press release from here. If the Bangladesh cricket team wins somewhere, I cannot even give a press release to congratulate it. He completely shut it down.”
