Nearly 245 million travelers passed through Singapore’s checkpoints in 2025, surpassing the 230 million recorded the previous year.
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said on Feb. 23 that about three in four travelers entered the country via land checkpoints, according to The Straits Times.
The highest single-day volume was recorded on Dec. 19, 2025, when nearly 589,000 travelers crossed into Singapore through land checkpoints.
ICA said passport-less clearance initiatives have made immigration processing “faster, more efficient and seamless for travelers,” Channel News Asia reported.
About 127 million travelers cleared immigration without presenting passports in 2025, the agency noted.
Known for its low crime rates and strong safety standards, Singapore has become a favored destination for international tourists.
From Jan. 30, authorities implemented stricter measures to prevent travelers deemed undesirable or those who do not meet entry requirements from boarding flights to the city-state.
