Amazing feat of amazing Pakistan! The one who does not have LLB degree…made him a judge, kept giving decisions for 5 years

Tariq Mahmood Fake LLB Degree: A shocking case has come to light that is shaking the judicial system of Pakistan. LLB degree, without which a person cannot even practice law, in the absence of the same, a person continued to work as a judge in Islamabad High Court and deliver judgments for about five years. This revelation has created a stir throughout Pakistan.

According to Dawn report, on February 23, the Islamabad High Court issued a detailed 116-page judgment removing Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri from the post. The court clearly said that his appointment was illegal from the beginning, because he did not have a valid law degree.

Judge of Islamabad High Court for five years

Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri was appointed judge of Islamabad High Court on 30 December 2020. However, he was barred from performing judicial functions in September 2024. Now in the final decision the court has declared his LLB degree completely invalid.

This decision was given by the bench of Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Azam Khan. The court concluded, based on Karachi University’s official records, that Jahangiri’s educational qualification was linked to fraud, taking exams under a false name and using another student’s enrollment number.

Ban was imposed for copying

According to the judgement, Jahangiri had appeared for the LLB Part-1 examination in 1988 with a fake enrollment number and was banned for three years in 1989 on charges of cheating. Instead of accepting the punishment, he re-appeared in 1990 under the name “Tariq Jahangiri” and used the enrollment number of another student, Imtiaz Ahmed. Later, he appeared for LLB Part-2 examination in his real name, but then adopted a different enrollment number. The court said that only one enrollment number is issued for one course, so it is impossible to have two numbers.

The Principal of Government Islamia Law College also clarified that Jahangiri never had valid admission in the college. The court remarked that an act which is illegal from the beginning cannot be made legal by any subsequent administrative decision. Thus, the very foundation of his legal career spanning over 30 years was found to be invalid and both his degree and appointment were cancelled.
