Story: This is the story of two Mumbai youth (Shashank and Roshni) who are a bit socially awkward and are trying to find love and accept themselves with their shortcomings.

Who should watch: If you love ‘Slice of Life’ movies, light-hearted romance and beautiful Mumbai monsoon visuals, this is for you.

Plus points: The fresh chemistry of Mrinal and Siddhant and the grandeur of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production.

2. Assi

Story: This film by Anubhav Sinha tells the bitter truth of rape that happens every 20 minutes in India. This is the story of the struggle of a school teacher (Parima) and the lawyer (Raavi i.e. Taapsee Pannu) who gets her justice.

Who should watch: If you like films with impactful and social messages like ‘Thappad’ or ‘Mulk’, then ‘Assi’ will shock you.

Plus points: The theme of the film and the powerful performance of Taapsee Pannu.

Challenge: Shahid Kapoor’s ‘O Romeo’ (Competition)

The biggest challenge for these two new films is the 12 day old film. ‘O Romeo’ Has been made. Shahid Kapoor’s film is registering better figures than ‘Assi’ and ‘DDSM’ even in its second week and has made a business of more than ₹60 crore so far.
