I am not here to compete with or attack anyone
Sivakarthikeyan recently made an emotional statement to audiences and members of the film fraternity, explaining why he joined the film industry and what his recent successes mean to him. During the pre-release event of Radikaa Sarathkumar’s Thaai Kizhavi in which he serves as the presenter, the actor said he doesn’t intend to “compete” with or “attack” anyone and only wants to drive a change in the lives of young directors and actors.
“We all are moving in life with a dream to do good to the society. I have come here with several wishes and I have gotten the opportunity that many yearn to have in their lives. Hence, I want to make this life meaningful. God needn’t have granted me so much of name, fame and money if they had thought it was needed only for me. When every film becomes a hit, it feels like God is telling me that I should utilise my success wisely to help others. I want give it back to the industry that gave me this space,” he elaborated.
He emphasised that he doesn’t want to compete with, trash or attack anyone in any way. “I want to utilise this life and opportunity well. Please allow me to do that. That is my humble request. When I work with newcomers like Sivakumar, I learn a lot. I have never worked on a film that’s a remake. I always hear stories before working on them. I believe I am responsible for all the successes and failures I face. I have a lot of flaws and I want to change that in a positive way. The projects I produce are helping me do that and I wish to continue the same,” he added, claiming that while he has audience support, people in the industry continue to pose hurdles in front of his career.
