Poppy seeds thandai is a very healthy and desi drink which is liked by everyone and why not, poppy seeds thandai not only cools the body but also drives away fatigue and weakness. One feels refreshed after drinking poppy seeds thandai. Let us know the easy recipe of making delicious and healthy poppy seeds thandai for Holi.

Material

Poppy seeds – 3 tbsp (poppy seeds)
Almonds- 10 to 12
Cashews – 8 to 10
Melon seeds – 1 tbsp
Cardamom-4-5 green
Fennel – 1 teaspoon
Black pepper- 4 to 5
Sugar-2 tbsp
Milk-2 cups cold
Saffron threads – four to five
Rose petals (for garnish)

Method

  1. First of all, soak poppy seeds, almonds, cashew nuts and melon seeds in water for 3-4 hours or overnight. After soaking, remove the peel of almonds.
  2. Add fennel, black pepper and cardamom to all the soaked ingredients and make a fine paste in the mixer. If necessary, add a little milk and grind it.
  3. Take cold milk in a big vessel. Add prepared paste and sugar to it and mix well. If desired, strain the mixture through a sieve so that the thandai becomes smooth.
  4. Add saffron and rose petals on top. Cool it in the fridge for a while and then serve.
