Shikhar Dhawan issued statement regarding ‘past’ a few days after marriage, know why he had to give clarification

Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has recently started a new journey in his life. On 21 February, he married his girlfriend Sophie Shine. Amidst the happiness of marriage, an alleged statement related to his ex-wife Aesha Dhawan started going viral on social media, which created controversy.

Controversy increased due to social media post

A viral post claimed that Dhawan’s ex-wife had said that he would never marry again. Not only this, it was also written in the post that Dhawan has given a befitting reply to that statement by marrying for the second time. Hurt by these claims, Dhawan himself felt it necessary to come forward and give clarification.

While sharing the post on social media platform X, Dhawan wrote that wrong things are being spread about his personal life. He clarified that he never made any such statement. Dhawan said that he always believes in leaving the past behind and moving forward, both on and off the field. He further wrote that he believes in positivity and respects his past. He is grateful for the love he has received from family, friends, fans and media as he begins the new chapter of his life. He also appealed that clickbait or misleading statements should not be shared with his name and everyone should spread love and positivity.

Divorced before

It is noteworthy that Shikhar Dhawan and Ayesha Dhawan got divorced in October 2023. After this, Dhawan was seen with Sophie Shine during the Champions Trophy 2025. According to reports, both of them met in UAE. Dhawan made his relationship public in May 2025. After their engagement on January 12, 2026, the couple finally tied the knot on February 21.
