Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama does it all in win over Pistons
Flexing their muscles, the San Antonio Spurs beat the Eastern Conference-leading Detroit Pistons on Monday night. The win extended the Spurs’ win streak to nine games.
And as expected, Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs to a 114-103 win with his strong play on both ends of the court. Wembanyama didn’t lead his team in scoring, as Devin Vassell had 28, but he recorded a double-double for the third straight game.
Wembanyama scored 21 points in 36 minutes while also adding 17 rebounds, four assists, six big blocks and a steal, doing a little bit of everything to help San Antonio secure their 41st victory of the season.
Victor Wembanyama’s defense set up the Spurs offense
Wembanyama’s imposing defense set up offense as well, most notably when his monster block above the cylinder led to a Stephon Castle three in the third quarter.
