Stock Market Today: Stock market opened with slight decline, Sensex and Nifty suffered losses.

Mumbai. Domestic stock markets Sensex and Nifty registered a decline of about one percent in early trade on Tuesday. According to traders, rising crude oil prices and fresh concerns over global trade following US President Donald Trump’s recent comments on tariffs also weighed on investor sentiment. BSE Sensex fell 813.13 points or 0.97 per cent to 82,481.53 in early trade while NSE Nifty slipped 230.15 points or 0.89 per cent to 25,482.85.

Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, Eternal’s share fell the most by 3.82 percent. Shares of HCL Technologies, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, Bharat Electronics Limited, Trent, Adani Ports, ITC and Titan also declined.

Whereas shares of State Bank of India, Axis Bank, PowerGrid, Asian Paints, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Tata Steel were profitable. In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi, China’s SSE Composite and Japan’s Nikkei 225 were in gain while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was in decline.

American stock markets closed with a decline of about two percent on Monday. The price of international standard Brent crude increased by one percent to $ 72.13 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were buyers on Monday and bought shares worth Rs 3,483.70 crore. On the other hand, domestic institutional investors made a net sale of shares worth Rs 1,292.24 crore.
