Mallikarjun Kharge said on the arrest of Uday Bhanu Chib – Whatever sacrifice we have to make, we will do it

New Delhi, 24 February. Congress on Tuesday termed the arrest of party youth wing president Uday Bhanu Chib in connection with the protest at the ‘AI Impact Summit’ as proof of dictatorial tendencies and cowardice and said that it is not afraid of such steps and the fight will continue against those who are holding the country hostage. Former party president Rahul Gandhi condemned Chib’s arrest and said that showing the mirror of truth to power is not a crime but patriotism.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself is “cowardly” and is trying to scare the Youth Congress people by not being able to defend his policies. Many Youth Congress workers had recently protested against the India-US trade interim agreement by removing their shirts at the venue of ‘AI Impact Summit’. In this case, Delhi Police arrested Chib on Tuesday.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi posted on ‘X’, “Peaceful protest is our historical heritage. It is in our blood and the democratic right of every Indian. I am proud of my Babbar Sher colleagues of the Youth Congress, who have fearlessly raised their voice in the interest of the country against the ‘compromised PM’.”
He alleged that the country’s interests have been compromised in the trade agreement with the US and that the agreement will harm farmers and the textile industry and hand over India’s data to the US.

He said, “The arrest of Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib and other Youth Congress comrades for putting this truth before the country is a proof of dictatorial tendencies and cowardice.” The Congress leader said, “The Congress party and I stand firmly with our Babbar Sher comrades. Showing the mirror of truth to power is not a crime, it is patriotism. Don’t be afraid – the truth and the Constitution are with us.” Kharge posted on ‘X’, “The youth today are yearning for jobs and the environment of the country has become so bad, due to which there is a lot of anger among the people towards Modi ji.”

He claimed that the Prime Minister surrendered before US President Donald Trump and accepted all his conditions, due to which the entire country was embarrassed. Kharge said that instead of the work that should have been done for the welfare and help of our farmers, talks were held to harm the farmers. The Congress President said, “It also became clear that people thought that Modi ji was talking to Trump in the interest of the country, but in reality Trump is enslaving us and pushing us towards making us bonded labourers. Modi ji is doing this.” He emphasized that Congress is neither afraid nor cowardly.

Kharge claimed, “Modi Saheb himself is a coward. Due to fear, he cannot even come to Parliament and defend his policies. That is why he is trying to scare us, our youth, our young leaders. This will not work. I condemn it.” The Congress president said, “We will make whatever sacrifices we have to make to protect democracy and the Constitution in our country. We will keep fighting and will continue the struggle against those who are holding the country hostage.” Congress media department head Pawan Khera alleged that the Modi government is afraid of opposition and being asked questions.
