‘I got MBBS by selling my farm…’ Father could not stop his tears in front of the camera on the death of his son in a plane crash

Chatra: A heart-wrenching accident took place in Chatra district of Jharkhand on Monday evening. An air ambulance going from Ranchi to Delhi crashed in the forest, killing all seven people on board. This tragic incident ruined many families.

While talking to the media, the father of Dr. Vikas Kumar Gupta, who was among the deceased, told such information which brought tears to everyone’s eyes.

Complete details of the accident

This aircraft was Beechcraft C90 (tail number VT-AJV) of Redbird Airways. There were two pilots Captain Vivek Vikas Bhagat and Captain Savrajdeep Singh, patient Sanjay Kumar (41 years), Dr Vikas Kumar Gupta, paramedic Sachin Kumar Mishra and two attendants Archana Devi and Dhuru Kumar. The patient was badly burnt in the fire that broke out in Sanjay Hotel and was being taken to Delhi for better treatment.

The pilots contacted Kolkata Air Traffic Control at around 7:34 pm, about 20-23 minutes after takeoff. He talked about changing the route due to bad weather and storm. Soon after this communication broke down and the plane disappeared from radar. It crashed in a dense forest near Simaria in Chatra district.

Painful video of doctor’s father

After the accident, when Dr. Vikas Kumar Gupta’s father Bajrangi Prasad came to see the body, he wept bitterly. On camera, he emotionally said that he had sold all his land and farms to make his son a doctor. The son was brilliant, he did MBBS from Cuttack, Odisha and was posted in Sadar Hospital, Ranchi.

Father told, "My son told me that he was going to Delhi with a patient, but then the news of the plane crash came and he left forever." He also has a 7-8 year old grandson, who has now lost his support. Hearing the screams of the father, the people around were frightened.

The family of patient Sanjay Kumar had also borrowed about Rs 8 lakh from relatives for the air ambulance. He hoped that advanced treatment in Delhi would save his life, but this hope turned into a tragic accident.

As soon as information about the accident was received, the local administration team reached the spot. All the bodies were recovered and sent to Chatra Hospital for postmortem. DGCA and Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau are investigating. Possible reasons are said to be bad weather or technical fault.
