Amazon Prime Video has rolled out a fresh batch of posters for its upcoming series Young Sherlockgiving fans a closer look at the main cast while once again confirming the show’s release date. The new visuals spotlight the reimagined detective drama directed by Guy Ritchie and set the stage for a younger take on the legendary sleuth.
Young Sherlock Holmes series posters highlight all characters
The freshly dropped posters spotlight the full cast of Young Sherlock. Hero Fiennes Tiffin takes the lead as a young Sherlock Holmes. Dónal Finn steps in as rival mastermind James Moriarty, while Zine Tseng plays Princess Gulun.
The lineup also features Colin Firth as Sir Bucephalus Hodge, Max Irons as Mycroft Holmes, Natascha McElhone as Cordelia Holmes, and Joseph Fiennes as Silas Holmes. Each poster puts the characters’ roles in sharp focus.
Inspired by Andy Lane’s Young Sherlock novelsthe Prime Video series tracks Holmes tackling his first real case. The plot kicks off with a mysterious murder at Oxford University that puts his future at risk and drags him into a bigger conspiracy. The official logline paints this version of Sherlock as “a disgraced young man – raw and unfiltered,” long before he becomes the legendary Baker Street detective (via Deadline).
Guy Ritchie returns to familiar territory. He directs and executive produces the series after previously steering the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes. The project also reunites him with Hero Fiennes Tiffin following their collaboration on The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
Tiffin spoke highly of the filmmaker’s working style. In a chat with Colliderhe said Ritchie is extremely decisive and confident behind the camera, which makes the cast trust his vision easily. “He’s so decisive and so good at what he does, it’s easy to trust him,” Tiffin said.
The series comes from writer and executive producer Matthew Parkhill. Harriet Creelman serves as co-executive producer alongside the wider producing team. All eight episodes of Young Sherlock drop on March 4, 2026, on Amazon Prime Video.
Sherlock Holmes has seen many screen versions over the years, from the BBC hit Sherlock starring Benedict Cumberbatch to the Robert Downey Jr. film franchise. This new series aims to carve its own lane by exploring the detective’s chaotic early years before his legend fully formed.
