Sanjay Singh, Patna. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Kishanganj on Wednesday at 4:35 pm. After this, a high-level review meeting will start in the Collectorate at 4:50 pm, while the second important meeting is scheduled at 6:30 pm. According to sources, a strategy for concrete action will be made with a comprehensive discussion on security in border districts, survey of land ports (border areas), infiltration and fake Aadhar card network.
In the meeting, there will be a thorough review of sensitive activities in the areas adjacent to the border. Recently, to further strengthen the border security system, the surveillance range of SSB has been increased from 5 kilometers to 15 kilometers. In this extended scope, special attention will be kept on suspicious activities, building construction taking place near the border, construction of religious places, mosques and madrassas and purchase and sale of land. Officials are expected to present a clear roadmap on the progress of the survey, identified hotspots and further action plan.

Rohingya route will be identified
Sources say that there will also be discussion on possible routes of Rohingya infiltration, network of fake Aadhaar cards to hide identity and active support mechanism at the local level. IT cells and intelligence units may receive instructions to intensify investigation into suspect identification, multi-registration at the same address and unusual construction activities in the border area through data analytics.
Smugglers will be tightened
Drug trafficking, especially through the Nepal route, will remain high on the agencies’ agenda. The focus will be on increasing smuggling patterns, seizure figures, networks of criminal gangs and coordination between states. DM-SP of Ramganj and Malda of West Bengal including Kishanganj, Araria, DIG, IT and DG level officers of Saharsa Border Force and BSF will be present in the meeting. There is a possibility of agreement on the framework of inter-state coordination and joint operations.
Administrative sources say that technology-enabling border management, drone surveillance, CCTV grid, shared database and rapid response teams will also be discussed. Also, the local police administration can be instructed to increase community dialogue in sensitive areas and control rumors, so that social balance is maintained along with security measures.

there will be a night’s rest
The Home Minister’s night stay is proposed in Kishanganj Medical College campus. His departure is scheduled for Thursday morning at 10 am. Shah’s visit is being seen as a comprehensive review of the security framework in the border districts and a strong message.
DM, SP of Kishanganj, Araria, Bengal Raniganj, Malda along with DIG, IT and DG of SSB and BSF will also be present in the meeting.
