Assurance of connecting all eligible people in the state with food security scheme

Jaipur. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara said in the Assembly on Tuesday that the state government is committed to connecting all the eligible applicants of the state with the Food Security Scheme.

He informed that the Food Security Portal has been opened from January 26, 2025 to include new and deprived eligible families in the National Food Security Scheme.

Answering supplementary questions from MLA Ramswaroop Lamba during Question Hour, the Minister said that the ceiling limit of Rs 4,46,61,960 has been set by the Central Government. The process to include eligible deprived beneficiaries in the National Food Security Scheme is going on against the vacant places available under this limit.

The minister said that after the opening of the portal from January 26, 2025, a total of 3,457 applications were received at the block and municipal level in Nasirabad assembly constituency till February 12, 2026. Of these, 2,437 applications were accepted, while 137 applications were rejected. He clarified that the rejected applications were rejected for not falling within the exclusion criteria mentioned in Schedule-1 of “Rajasthan Food Safety Rules, 2023” or for lack of necessary documents related to the inclusion category.

He also informed that as of February 12, 2026, 221 applications are pending in Nasirabad area. As per the prescribed criteria, these pending applications are being disposed of as per rules if they are eligible in any one of the 32 inclusion categories mentioned in Schedule-1 and do not fall under the exclusion criteria.

The Minister also placed the detailed details of block and municipality wise applications on the table of the House.
