The representative of the former Secondary Teachers Association, under the leadership of District President Ramesh Chandra Mishra and District General Secretary Kalimullah, gave a letter to the District Magistrate through the District Basic Education Officer on March 3, between Holika Dahan and Holi. District President Ramesh Chandra Mishra told that most of the teachers in the district are from other districts, two hundred to six hundred kilometers away.
In the holiday table released by Basic Education Council, Holika Dahan is on 02 March and Holi is on 04 March. Due to absence of holiday on 03 March, teachers from remote districts who go to celebrate Holi with their families will not be able to reach school again on 03 March and do teaching work.
Therefore, it would be appropriate to declare March 3 as a holiday, so that all the teachers can celebrate the festival of Holi with joy at home. Apart from District General Secretary Kalimullah, Sanjay Kumar Kannaujiya, Dilip Choudhary, Ram Vilas Choudhary etc. were mainly included in the delegation.
