Good news for the people of Delhi! LPG cylinder will be available for free on the occasion of Holi, Rs 853 will come to your account
There is good news for the people of Delhi. On the occasion of Holi they will get a free cylinder. Delhi’s Rekha Gupta government will start the free cylinder scheme from Holi. Under this scheme, money will be transferred directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT. All ration card holders will get the cylinder for free. Not only on Holi, but ration card holders in Delhi will also be given free gas cylinders on the occasion of Diwali.
Chief Minister’s Office had given information through social media post
Information regarding this was given by the Delhi Chief Minister’s Office through social media on 5 February. The X Post said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi government has fulfilled another promise made to the people of Delhi. From now on, every year on Holi and Diwali, all ration card holders will be given free gas cylinders. Under this scheme, starting from Holi this year, the amount will be transferred directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT.”
Holi festival will be held across the country on March 4. Before this, people of Delhi will get free cylinders. The free cylinder available on Diwali will be available around 8th November 2026.
Who will get the benefit of the scheme?
- Those who have a valid ration card issued by Delhi Government
- The beneficiary must have an active bank account which is linked to DBT
- Must be registered under the Ration Card System
About Rs 242.77 crore will be spent on this scheme of Delhi government. On February 3, 2026, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta had said, “We had made a promise in our resolution letter. We passed this scheme in the cabinet meeting. We have given a fund of Rs 242 crore for this. On this festival of Holi, we will transfer the value of one cylinder i.e. Rs 853 to the accounts of all the families holding ration cards. We will also transfer Rs 853 to the accounts of those who are using PNG.”
