Valsala Prasannakumar has played a very active role while in Congress. She has also been the chairperson of Paravur Municipality. At the BJP state headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram, BJP State President Rajeev Chandrashekhar formally inducted Vatsala Prasannakumar into the BJP and got him membership of the party. On this occasion, BJP State General Secretary S. Suresh and senior leader AN Radhakrishnan and many others were also present.
After joining BJP, Vatsala Prasannakumar said that impressed by the public welfare schemes being run by the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the steps being taken towards women empowerment, he has decided to leave Congress. He expressed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She said that she will join BJP and work together with NDA for developed Paravur and developed Kerala. Vatsala Prasannakumar hails from North Paravur area of Ernakulam district, considered the stronghold of opposition leader VD Satheesan.
