According to sources, before their important match against Zimbabwe, India had to practice at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The team reached the ground on time at 5:30 pm but Rinku Singh was missing.

This match will be played on 26 February at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. India will face Zimbabwe. Both the teams had lost their first Super 8 matches, due to which they are currently out of the top two in the points table.

Why did Rinku Singh return home?

It is being told that Rinku Singh’s father Khanchand Singh has been suffering from liver cancer for the last one year and is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Noida. Recently his condition suddenly worsened and he had to be put on ventilator support. As soon as she got information about the serious condition of her family, Rinku decided to leave the team camp and go to Noida immediately.

Now the biggest question is whether Rinku Singh will be able to return to the team on time. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet issued any official statement on this matter. The team management is keeping an eye on the situation and can make changes in the playing eleven if necessary.

Who can replace Rinku Singh?

The India-Zimbabwe match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The pitch there is considered beneficial for spin bowlers. Therefore, if Rinku Singh is not in the team, then Akshar Patel can be included in the playing eleven in his place. With Akshar’s inclusion, the batting will not be weakened and the team will get another bowling option. He played in the initial matches of the tournament but was later replaced by Washington Sundar.
