Many unprecedented decisions were taken for the country : PM

PM Modi said, ‘Today, on the day of Yugabd 5127, Vikram Samvat 2082, Phalgun Shukla Ashtami, the first meeting of the Union Cabinet was held in the newly constructed Seva Tirtha. In this many unprecedented decisions were taken for the country. During this, the Cabinet also resolved that Seva Teerth, built on the foundation of indigenous thinking, modern form and infinite potential of 140 crore countrymen, will continuously carry forward the duty of service to the nation. Our mantra in this national yagya is – Yad Bhadram Tann Aa Suva. That is, whatever is auspicious and beneficial, whatever new ideas there are, may we continue to receive them.

The meeting was presented by the government as a reflection of ‘rebuilding a new India’. Built on the site of British-era temporary barracks, the ‘Seva Teerth’ is set as a symbol of change – the colonial-era structure has been replaced by a modern governance center based on Indian values.

In a resolution passed at the meeting, the Cabinet reiterated that every decision taken in the ‘Seva Tirtha’ will be inspired by the spirit of service to 1.4 billion citizens and will be in line with the broader goal of nation building. The government described the campus as not just a workplace but a ‘pilgrimage of service’ encompassing duty, dedication and public welfare.

The Cabinet stressed that governance from the new campus will be based on constitutional values, including dignity, equality and justice for all citizens. It reaffirmed that ‘Seva Teerth’ will function as a center of empowerment rather than display of power, guided by the principle of “Nagarik Devo Bhava” – i.e. treating citizens first.
