‘Marjari Asana’ is a boon for those with desk jobs, neck and back pain will disappear.
Sitting on a chair in the office for hours puts a lot of stress on the back and neck. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Marjari Asana (Cat Pose) is a yoga asana which is effective in making the spine flexible, strong and healthy. This cat-like back bending pose relaxes the spinal muscles, improves digestion and is also considered beneficial for the thyroid.
Experts say that by doing Marjari Asana for a few minutes daily, one can get relief from pain. While doing this asana, the body is in the posture of a cat. While doing this, the spinal cord is shaken back and forth like a wave, due to which the entire spine becomes flexible and strong.
According to Ayurveda, doing this asana daily provides relief from lumbar pain and sciatica. Stiffness of neck and shoulders goes away and cervical pain gets relief. The spine becomes flexible, it is beneficial in spondylitis. Belly fat is reduced and digestion improves. This reduces stress and irritability, improves sleep and opens the lungs to their full capacity. Also, it energizes the entire body and provides relief from pain.
