After the accident, the DGCA had appointed a multi-disciplinary team to conduct a thorough investigation of the technical maintenance standards and safety procedures of VSR Ventures. Serious matters have come to light under this special investigation. It became clear that the norms approved for maintenance of aircraft were not being followed. Several errors were found in the areas of airworthiness and flight operations of the aircraft. The four aircraft, VT-VRA, VT-VRS, VT-VRV and VT-TRI, will not be flown unless the safety norms are met, as the company has been found flouting norms in terms of air safety and maintenance.

An independent investigation by the AAIB is underway

On the other hand, the Air Accidents Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is conducting an independent technical investigation into the matter. Data from the plane’s ‘black box’, the pilot’s last reactions, communications with air traffic control (ATC) and weather changes are all under investigation. The plane’s wreckage and technical equipment are being analyzed to determine whether it was a technical failure or human error.
