Good news for these employees in UP, salary increased
Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has given big relief to the distillery employees of the state before Holi. The Yogi government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a historic decision to increase the salaries of distillery employees by Rs 2,100 per month. Along with this, employees will also get the arrears of the previous period.
Let us tell you that a total of 104 distilleries operate in Uttar Pradesh, in which about 45 thousand employees work. Employees will get the benefit of increased salary only when the Principal Secretary Labor of Uttar Pradesh signs his/her signature.
Why was salary increase necessary?
The salaries of distillery employees were to be revised in September 2022, but it remained pending due to various reasons. Last month, a three-party meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Labor Commissioner, which included trade unions, factory management and labor department officials on behalf of the employees. After the meeting, a consensus was reached on increasing the salary of employees by Rs 2,100.

According to the General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Distillery Mazdoor Sangh, after the salary increase, the minimum salary of the employees will be Rs 22 to 23 thousand per month. At the same time, the maximum salary at the supervisor level will reach Rs 28 to 30 thousand. He also said that 50 to 65 percent tax of the MRP marked on the products in the state is paid by the distillery companies to the government. Despite this, employees did not get proper salaries for a long time.
Promotion of distillery industry and investment
Yogi government is also working on the new excise policy 2026-27. Under the new policy, setting up of distillery plants in the state will be encouraged and various facilities are being considered to increase exports. This step will increase investor confidence and also strengthen the revenue resources of the state. This decision of the government is not only good news for the employees, but is also considered important for strengthening the distillery industry and improving the economy of the state.
