Render Shows What TVS’ Upcoming 450cc Sports Bike Could Look Like

TVS Motor Company had showcased the Tangent RR Concept, a sportbike, at EICMA last year. It now looks like the brand is working on a production version, as it has filed a patent for a motorcycle that closely resembles the concept. It is assumed that this patent is for an upcoming 450cc sportbike, and based on the patent images, we have a render that shows what the bike might look like.

The leaked patent images show a motorcycle similar to the Tangent RR Concept showcased by TVS. It definitely looks futuristic, and we see several design elements that remind us of higher-capacity sportbikes and superbikes.

The render image, generated using the patent drawings, shows a sharp and sleek design. Like most superbikes, the motorcycle gets an aggressive stance. The major attraction in the render is the headlamp setup. The sleek twin headlamps give it an aggressive face, while the bulky fairing and large front windshield complement the overall look.

Moving lower, you’ll notice USD forks at the front. Another render showing the side profile offers a clearer view of the details. The bike uses alloy wheels and gets twin disc brakes at the front.

Other noticeable features include a sculpted fuel tank, low-set clip-on handlebars, a muscular fairing design, an under-seat exhaust, monoshock suspension, and 17-inch wheels at both ends. The bike also gets rear-set footpegs, and it wouldn’t be wrong to call this a single-seat motorcycle, as there appears to be barely any space for a pillion. Although the render shows a seat, we are not sure how practical it would be.

TVS is likely to offer a monocoque subframe, which would help reduce weight and improve performance, airflow management, and handling. However, this is purely speculative at the moment, and we hope the final product stays close to the Tangent RR Concept.

Coming to the engine and gearbox, TVS is working with BMW Motorrad and has reportedly developed a 450cc twin-cylinder engine. While BMW will use this engine in its future products, TVS is also expected to enter the twin-cylinder segment with this motor. The 450cc sportbike could be one of the first models to feature it.

It could even replace the TVS Apache RR 310 in TVS’ lineup. The 450cc twin-cylinder engine is set to debut in the BMW F 450 GS and is expected to produce around 48 PS and 43 Nm of peak torque. If TVS uses this engine in its sportbike, it will likely tune it differently. In the F 450 GS, the engine is expected to be tuned for off-roading and adventure riding, whereas in a sportbike, the focus would be on performance and sharper throttle response.

It should be noted that the image shown here is just a render. The actual production version of the motorcycle could look different when it finally launches.

TVS has also bought Norton and has been working on reviving the brand. They showcased 4 upcoming models at the EICMA and one of them was recently spotted testing in India. Norton as part of their strategy plans to launch Manx and Manx R along with the Atlas and Atlas GT.
