Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has criticized the Central Government and shared a post in support of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) National President Uday Bhanu Chib, who has been arrested in connection with the protest at Bharat Mandapam during the India AI Impact Summit 2026.
While sharing the post on social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi wrote, ‘Peaceful protest is our historical heritage. It is in our blood and is the democratic right of every Indian.
Congress MP wrote in support of Uday Bhanu after his arrest, ‘I am proud of my Babbar Sher colleagues in Youth Congress, who have fearlessly raised their voice in the interest of the country against the compromised PM. The arrest of Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib and other IYC colleagues for putting this truth before the country is a proof of dictatorial tendencies and cowardice.

Criticism of trade deal with America
Rahul Gandhi also mentioned the trade deal with America in his post and criticized the policies of the central government. He wrote, ‘The country’s interests have been compromised in the trade deal with America. This agreement will harm our farmers and textile industry and will hand over our data into the hands of America.
