Violent clash between ABVP and leftist student organizations in JNU, know the whole matter

The tension between student organizations turned into a violent clash on the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus late on Sunday night. Between 1 and 1:30 in the night, ABVP and leftist student groups came face to face. It is being told that leftist organizations had taken out ‘Equality March’ in the campus demanding the resignation of the Vice Chancellor. During this time there was an altercation between the two parties, which later turned into a confrontation.

Many videos surfaced on social media

After the incident, many videos have surfaced on social media, in which some students are seen in injured condition. Especially the blood stained scenes of students belonging to Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) have gone viral. The atmosphere of chaos and scuffle between the students is clearly visible in these videos.

ABVP has alleged that general students studying in various schools on the campus were targeted by leftist groups. The organization says that many students had to be locked in their rooms for their safety. According to them, this was not normal student politics but planned violence. ABVP issued a statement saying that the university campus should not be allowed to become a platform for ideological intolerance and intimidation.

Leftist student organizations rejected the allegations

Leftist student organizations have counterattacked by rejecting these allegations. All India Students Association (AISA) claims that ABVP workers pelted stones and attacked the protesters during the march. The organization termed it an attempt to suppress the student movement. He says that this action was taken to disrupt the peaceful protest.

Similarly, Students Federation of India (SFI) also alleged that the students gathered on the call of JNU Students Union (JNUSU) were targeted. According to SFI, the demonstration was organized to protest against the withdrawal of the expulsion order and alleged casteist comments. They allege that stone pelting and violence was done with the aim of weakening the movement.

Security has been increased in the campus after the incident. An official statement from the administration is awaited, while the round of allegations and counter-allegations continues among the student organizations. At present the situation is said to be tense but under control.
