Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Schedule: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday released the full schedule of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which includes all 12 participating teams. Host England will face Sri Lanka in the first match on June 12.
According to the ICC website, this year there will be the 10th edition of this tournament from June 12 to July 5, in which 12 teams will compete for the title, which is the largest field so far in the history of the tournament. Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands were the last four teams to book their places in the event, having advanced through the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier held in Nepal last month.
The four qualifying teams are now joined by defending champions New Zealand, hosts and winners of the first edition in 2009, England, winners of the 2016 edition, West Indies, current ODI World Cup winners in India and six-time tournament winners Australia.
First match between these two teams
Hosts England will face Sri Lanka in the tournament opener on June 12, while Ireland and Scotland will open their campaign against each other in an all-European match at Old Trafford on June 13.

India-Pak in same group
When England take on Scotland at Headingley on June 20, it will be the first time the two teams will face each other in an ICC event on English turf. Ireland and Scotland have been placed in Group B along with England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and West Indies. Whereas in Group A there are Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh and Netherlands. The Dutch team will make its debut in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and will start its campaign against Bangladesh, which has not lost in the qualifying tournament.

ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta said, “The release of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 schedule is an important milestone in the preparations for the global, premier sporting event.” “This event is part of the ICC’s continued investment in women’s cricket – including increased participation and high-performance approaches, event and production standards, tournament prize money, media distribution and commercial partnerships – aimed at driving greater attention, engagement and status for fans around the world,” he said.
Sanjog Gupta said, “The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India grew the game by leaps and bounds – breaking records, raising minds and inspiring the community – and we aim to continue that momentum with the event in June-July.” The final will be played on 5th July at the famous Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

Group 1: Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Netherlands
Group 2: West Indies, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland.
