Ahead of Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Israel, the Knesset, the parliament there, was illuminated in the colors of the Indian tricolor. The lighting of the tricolor on the Parliament House reflected the growing strategic partnership and mutual respect between the two countries.

This visit of Prime Minister Modi will be his second visit to Israel in the last nine years. Earlier, during his historic visit in 2017, relations between the two countries were formally given the status of strategic partnership. This time, emphasis will be laid on further expanding cooperation in areas like defence, trade, technology and innovation. According to sources, during this visit there can be discussion on taking bilateral relations to a more advanced level.

Benjamin Netanyahu will welcome PM Modi

Upon reaching Israel, Prime Minister Modi will be welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Personal and delegation level talks are proposed between the two leaders. The Prime Minister will also address the Knesset, which is considered an important honor. In addition, he will participate in an exhibition related to technological innovation and meet key industry representatives. Netanyahu will also organize a special banquet in honor of Prime Minister Modi.

As part of his program, the Prime Minister will visit the Yad Vashem Memorial in Jerusalem to pay tribute to the Holocaust victims and will also meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog. This visit is also being considered an opportunity to strengthen the historical and emotional ties between the two countries.

There is a possibility of many agreements in the field of defense cooperation, artificial intelligence, cyber security and advanced technologies during this visit. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this visit will give a new direction to the long-standing cooperation between the two democratic countries and will further strengthen the partnership to face common challenges.
