First the car was surrounded from all sides, then bullets were fired incessantly, what happened near the Marghat temple last night?

Delhi ISBT Kashmiri Gate Firing: Delhi’s Kashmere Gate area was shaken by gunfire late Tuesday night. Unidentified assailants fired several rounds of bullets targeting the lawyer of the legal team of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi lodged in Sabarmati jail. After this attack, the fear of underworld and gang war has once again increased in Delhi.

Challenging the security arrangements, miscreants committed a major crime in the capital Delhi at around 10:30 pm on Tuesday night. Advocate Deepak Khatri, associated with the legal team of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was traveling in a car with his four companions. At that very moment he was attacked.

What happened near Marghat temple?

By car, everyone had reached near Marghat Hanuman temple located at Kashmiri Gate, when suddenly three attackers riding on a bike came and surrounded their moving car. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers started firing bullets at the car without any warning, due to which the rear glass of the car was completely broken.

One shot in the shoulder, took shelter in a hotel

At the time of the firing, a total of five people including a lawyer were in the car. In this sudden attack, a person sitting in the back seat of the car was shot in the shoulder, due to which he was seriously injured. Sensing the situation, the driver of the car showed wisdom and instead of stopping the car, he quickly drove away from there. To escape the attackers, the driver took the vehicle inside a 5-star hotel located in Civil Lines, where he secured himself. The injured person was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, where doctors declared his condition stable and out of danger.

Has a new gang war started in Delhi?

The way Lawrence Bishnoi’s lawyer has been attacked in detail has given sleepless nights to the police department and intelligence agencies. Many big reasons and apprehensions are being raised behind this:

• Old rivalry: Police suspect that this attack could be the work of a rival gang having an old enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi.
• Battle for supremacy: There have been allegations that Lawrence Bishnoi’s network operated from inside the jail as well. In such a situation, attacking his legal team could be a vicious ploy by rival gangs to weaken or intimidate him.
• Sabarmati Jail Connection: Bishnoi is currently lodged in the high-security ward of Sabarmati Central Jail in Gujarat. There are strict restrictions imposed on him under Section 268 of CrPC, due to which he cannot be sent to the police custody of any other state.

Lawrence Bishnoi Gang: A long series of crimes and threats

This attack has happened at a time when Lawrence Bishnoi gang itself is very active. Recently, this gang had also taken responsibility for the murder of Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai and the firing at the house of Bollywood director Rohit Shetty. The gang had also recently threatened actor Ranveer Singh. The police is also investigating from this angle whether this attack was really carried out by a rival gang or whether there is some other bigger conspiracy behind it.

Question mark on law and order!

This incident has once again put Delhi’s security system in the dock. As soon as the information was received, a huge team of Delhi Police and forensic experts reached the spot and collected evidence. CCTV footage of the area is being scrutinized to identify the attackers and suspicious routes have been cordoned off. Officials say that the incident is being investigated from every possible angle so that the attackers can be put behind the bars as soon as possible.
