In view of the festival of Holi, the state government has announced to send the salary and pension for the month of February in this month instead of March. On Tuesday (24 February 2026), State Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav gave this information during the ongoing budget session in the Assembly.

Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav rejected the allegations of opposition members that the treasury is empty and said that the financial position of the state is balanced. The government is sensitive to the interests of employees and ensuring timely salary payment is a priority. The talk that the treasury is empty is baseless. The government is giving pension and salary to the employees and pensioners of the state on time. Before Holi, the salary of state employees and pension amount of pensioners will be sent to their accounts.

Instructions given to all departments

The Finance Minister said that in view of the expenses incurred during festivals, instructions have been given to all departments to release salaries. Preparations have been completed at the treasury level. There will be no delay in the payment process. Pensioners will also get relief by getting the amount on time. With this, employees will not have to wait for the next month for salary and pensioners will not have to wait for pension. There is a possibility that salary-pension may arrive in the accounts of employees and pensioners before February 28.
