Unknown assailants fired multiple shots at the lawyer of the legal team of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi lodged in Sabarmati Jail. After this attack, the fear of underworld and gang war has once again increased in Delhi. Challenging the security arrangements, criminals committed a major crime in capital Delhi around 10:30 pm on Tuesday night. Deepak Khatri, a lawyer associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s legal team, was traveling in a car with his four accomplices. At that moment he was attacked.

Incident happened near Marghat temple?

The lawyer’s car had just reached the Marghat Wale Hanuman temple at Kashmiri Gate when suddenly three motorcycle-borne assailants surrounded his moving car. According to eyewitnesses, the assailants opened fire on the car without warning, completely shattering the rear window.

One person was shot in the shoulder

Five people, including a lawyer, were in the car when the shooting took place. In the surprise attack, a man sitting in the back seat was shot in the shoulder, seriously injuring him. Realizing the situation, the car driver acted smart and sped away instead of stopping. To escape the attackers, the driver drove the car to a five-star hotel in Civil Lines, where he took shelter. The injured man was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors said his condition is stable and out of danger.

Has a new gang war started in Delhi?

The apparent attack on Lawrence Bishnoi’s lawyer has alarmed police departments and intelligence agencies. Several major reasons and suspicions are being raised:

• Old Enmities: Police suspect that the attack could be the work of a rival gang with a longstanding feud with Lawrence Bishnoi.

• Battle for supremacy: Lawrence Bishnoi’s network is accused of operating from prison. In such cases, attacking his legal team could be a cunning ploy by rival gangs to weaken or intimidate him.

• Sabarmati Jail Connection: Bishnoi is currently lodged in the high-security ward of the Sabarmati Central Jail in Gujarat. He is under strict restrictions under Section 268 of the CrPC, which prevents him from being transferred to police custody in another state.
