Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand: A case has been registered against Varanasi’s Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda on charges of sexual exploitation. This case has been registered on the complaint of a person named Ashutosh Maharaj. Following the court order, the police have registered an FIR against Swami Avimukteshwaranand and one of his disciples. Sections have also been imposed on both of them under POCSO Act.

The writer made serious allegations

Meanwhile, writer Bhumika Dwivedi has also made many serious claims about Swami Avimukteshwarananda. Bhumika says that she had gone there in the year 2022 to write a book on Varanasi and stayed in Swami’s university in Varanasi for about two months.

Shocking activities seen while living in the ashram

According to Bhumika Dwivedi, during her stay in the ashram from March 18, 2022 to May 2022, she saw many such activities which she found unusual and shocking. He claims that when the Math manager entered his name in the register, he found the method of questioning suspicious. He also said that a woman was given special status in the ashram and no major decision was taken without her orders.

A secret area exists in the name of ‘Sakhis’

According to Bhumika, there was a separate area in the ashram called ‘Sakhis’, where entry was prohibited. That part was kept secret from the common people. He also claims that the Batukas studying there were kept in limited contact. There was a ban on talking to him and getting photographs taken. He was not even allowed to meet his parents much.

Claim of secret door in monastery premises also

The author has also claimed that there is a secret door in the monastery complex and many activities are conducted in secrecy. He has said that the ashram will have facilities like marble rooms, carpet, CCTV, LED, lift and swimming pool on the fifth floor.

Bought 22 properties after becoming an owner – Bhumika Dwivedi

Bhumika Dwivedi alleges that after becoming Shankaracharya, Swamy bought 22 properties and allegedly gave them in the name of his relatives. Alleging abuse and exploitation of the Batuks, he has demanded a fair and thorough investigation into the entire matter.
