Lalganj (Rae Bareli). The body of a 17-year-old girl student was found hanging with the help of a dupatta from the hook of a fan inside the house on Wednesday afternoon in Rangaon, Bachhrawan Road of Kotwali area. The incident created a stir in the area. Police reached the spot after receiving the information and took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. Village resident Satyendra Singh lives in Nai Basti near Adhin Ka Purva village with his wife Santosh Singh, daughter Pragya Singh (17) and son Prince (14). On Wednesday, Satyendra and his wife had gone to pay the electricity bill. Son went to school.
When the couple returned at around 12 noon, the door of the house was locked from inside. On peeping through the window, the daughter was seen hanging from the hook of the fan in the ceiling of the verandah. Seeing this he was shocked. Hearing the noise, all the people nearby gathered. Entered inside by breaking the wall next to the door. The noose was cut and brought down but by then he had died. There was chaos in the family after the incident. The family members have made serious allegations in the case.
He says that when he had gone to a relative’s wedding on Tuesday evening, some young men working in a factory making equipment for arable farming located near the house, dragged the student towards the fields and tried to force her. When people fishing in the nearby pond raised an alarm, the accused fled from there. On returning from the invitation, the student told the whole story to her parents.
Satyendra also works in the same factory. The family members allege that the factory owner pressurized them to suppress the matter and asked them to return and talk. It is also alleged that the factory manager removed the accused youth from there. The family says that the student took this step due to this fact. The student was appearing for intermediate board examination. Inspector in-charge Pramod Kumar Singh said that after getting the Panchayatnama done, the body has been sent for post-mortem. The people working in the factory are being detained and interrogated. The case is being investigated.
