CM Yogi met NRIs in Japan: Attacked the previous governments, said – only those with a tendency to dacoity liked darkness.
Lucknow. “Earlier, there were no roads in Uttar Pradesh, no electricity. Because those who work in the dark do not like light. When the trend is towards dacoity, the state is also kept in darkness. But, we decided that if Uttar Pradesh is to be freed from fear and corruption, it will have to be brought into the light. We are sons of the Sun, we need light like the Sun.”
While addressing the Indian community in Japan, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in this simple and clear manner presented the story of Uttar Pradesh’s transformation from ‘darkness to light’ in front of everyone. Referring to law and order, infrastructure, cultural renaissance and new investment opportunities in the state, he said that today UP has moved beyond the news of riots or curfew and has become the identity of Deepotsav, Mahakumbh and global investment and this change is taking India forward in the direction of a developed nation. The Chief Minister said that earlier there was a problem of connectivity, there were no roads, there was no electricity. People also used to say that electricity kept disappearing.
In fact, earlier governments were used to living in darkness, because all their work was done in darkness. You tell me, will the robbery take place in broad daylight? When the intention was to commit robbery, it could be committed only in the dark, hence electricity was not provided. They did not discharge their duties. We wanted the state to be free from dacoity and fear. That requires light. And we are sons of the sun, so we need light like the sun. Therefore we ensured electricity supply. Today this change is clearly visible in Uttar Pradesh.
He said that today India is achieving new heights under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. The resolve of a developed India seems to be coming true. Uttar Pradesh, which is a state of 25 crore population, is now setting new dimensions of development. Earlier only curfew, riots and darkness were in the news. There is news of celebrations today. Deepotsav in Ayodhya, Dev Diwali in Kashi, Rangotsav in Mathura-Vrindavan, all these are symbols of positive change. We improved law and order, improved connectivity, ensured power supply. Today investors are investing in sectors like semiconductor, data centre, artificial intelligence, green hydrogen, logistics park and international airport in Uttar Pradesh, which was unthinkable earlier.
While wishing Holi to the Indian community, he said that Mahakumbh and the grand Ram temple of Ayodhya are examples of our potential. The redevelopment of Kashi Vishwanath Dham is a beautiful confluence of modernity and tradition. India’s power is to take the world on the path of friendship and compassion, not to establish dominance over anyone.
‘Janani Janmabhoomisch Swargadapi Gariyasi’ is our inspiration. Wherever people of Indian origin are in trouble in the world, India stands with them. We should also contribute to the welfare of our country and the world. Today about 55 thousand members of the Indian community live in Japan. You all should unite and contribute to the development of both Japan and India. Our direction is right, we have to increase our speed further. Your positive cooperation is expected.
The Chief Minister said that we are in Japan. Japan is called the land of the rising sun. The first rays of the sun fall here. Whereas India is the land of Suryaputra. Lord Shri Ram incarnated in the Suryavanshi tradition. Mahatma Buddha carried forward the same tradition. Various incarnations of Lord Vishnu have given direction to humanity from time to time.
The concept of Ramrajya in our Sanatan tradition does not limit religion only to worship, but connects it to duty. It has been accepted as ‘Way of Life’. A way of life that expresses gratitude towards our heritage, our ancestors and our earth and leads us on the path of moral values. I am happy that while living here in Japan, all of you are contributing to the development of Japan and at the same time preserving your cultural heritage.
He said that Uttar Pradesh Day is celebrated on 24th January. With the inspiration of Prime Minister Modi, all the states decided to celebrate their foundation day. Surprisingly, before 2017, no special event of Diwali was held in Ayodhya itself. We started the festival of lights. In the first year, even 51,000 lamps were not available around Ayodhya.
They had to be procured from all over the state. Today 25 to 30 lakh lamps are lit simultaneously. Last year, more than 66 crore devotees came to Prayagraj Mahakumbh. This was a unique event in the world. More than 156 crore tourists came to Uttar Pradesh in one year. Only pride in heritage takes the society forward. The program started with a cultural event, where the presentation of the daughters won the heart of CM Yogi.
He said that the way these daughters demonstrated their talent despite living thousands of kilometers away from India is highly commendable. The cultural and classical music genre of Kashi, the stunning presentation of Nanda Devi’s saga in the Jagar tradition of Uttarakhand and finally the presentation filled with the spirit of construction of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, all this was amazing. After his address, the Chief Minister also got a photo shoot done with these daughters. During this, the entire courtyard echoed with the cheers of ‘Yogi-Yogi’.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister called Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, Advisor to UP Government Avnish Awasthi, ACS (Finance) and Industrial Development Commissioner Deepak Kumar, Secretary in CM Office Amit Singh, Invest UP CEO Vijay Kiran Anand and ADG Tarun Gaba on the stage and introduced them to the NRI community. During this, the Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to India’s Ambassador to Japan Nagma Malik and her entire team.
