Miracle of flowers coming out of temples: Eco-friendly gulal being prepared in Rewa

But a group of women in Rewa has taken a unique initiative. These women collect flowers from temples and make pure herbal color and gulal from them. This Gulal does not cause any harm to people’s skin and makes Holi not only eco friendly Holi but also skin friendly Holi. Also, the flowers that came out of the temples were polluting the rivers of Rewa. They are also being utilized properly.

Gulal is made from flowers like marigold, hibiscus, palash and jasmine.

All types of flowers are used to make gulal. Mainly flowers like marigold, hibiscus, palash and jasmine are used in making gulal. Demand for pure Gulal is also increasing outside Madhya Pradesh in cities like Delhi, Bengaluru and Haryana. It is said that Holi, the festival of colors, is also a celebration of connecting with nature. In spring when Palash trees are filled with saffron flowers. Then these flowers become the colors of Holi. These fragrant flowers make our Holi a Happy Holi.

Allergy in skin and eyes due to chemical colors

Many times the gulal and colors available in the market are made of chemical substances. Mercury, lead and synthetics are added to it. In this, problems like itching, allergy, burning sensation on the skin and even eye infection are also seen. This color is obtained by grinding the dried flowers thoroughly and making a fine powder. The fine powder that remains is filtered through a muslin cloth or a sieve. Herbal color is made from it. Amrita Kesarwani and Namrata Kesarwani, who started it, while talking to Vistaar News, said that they had started it many years ago. The flowers coming from temples used to pollute the rivers. It started with the aim of purifying the rivers and providing pure herbal gulal to the people. Which is in demand all over the country today. This not only makes for an eco-friendly Holi, but also makes for a skin-friendly Holi.

Method of making saffron wet color

Take about 200 grams of fresh or dried tesu flowers. Clean them. Boil in 2 liters of water for 10 to 15 minutes. The color of the water will become deep saffron. After cooling, this natural color is ready to play Holi.

How to make herbal gulal

Grind the dried flowers thoroughly and make a fine powder. Filter it through a muslin cloth or sieve, so that the coarse fibers are separated. The fine powder that remains is the real herbal gulal. This is being prepared with the aim of promoting eco-friendly Holi. Herbal colors are making Holi happy and these colors derived from Rewa are also inspiring everyone for pure chemical free Holi.
