Connor Storrie gets in an accent duel for new SNL promo

Connor Storrie, who is popular for his accents, gets in an accent duel with James Austin Johnson ahead of a new instalment of Saturday Night Live.

Heated Rivalry star is set to host the comedy-sketch late-night show on February 28. Ahead of his gig, in a new clip shared by SNLStorrie delves into a small language test in an accent duel against his cast member, Johnson.

“And by the way, the Russian accent was awesome,” Marcello Hernández says to Storrie, who responds, “Thanks, I actually do all kinds of accents!”

At the slightest mention of the topic, Johnson jumps in, ready to protect his self-declared title as SNL’s resident accent expert.

The pair faced off through German, Cajun, French, Italian, and even Shakespearean impressions. Storrie casually sips a beer as he jokes about how easily he can slip into character, and his take on Shakespeare is strong enough to spark talk of a future Bard-inspired role.

When Hernández challenges them to attempt Jamaican accents, both quickly pass. “I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Storrie admits, hesitating.

As the playful rivalry continues, it’s Storrie’s much-praised Russian accent that ultimately steals the moment.

Slipping into his fan-favourite Heated Rivalry persona, Rozanov delivers a dramatic farewell line before pretending to take Johnson out with a finger-gun gesture.

Storrie will make his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live on February 28.
