Barbarity in Indore: A renowned doctor held a couple hostage for 8 months, raped the woman and snatched away her newborn baby.

Indore: A soul-shattering case has come to light from Indore, the number-1 city in cleanliness, which has put humanity to shame. An influential doctor associated with a reputed hospital of the city has been accused of not only luring a debt-ridden couple with the promise of help, but also keeping the woman hostage for 8 months and torturing her. Not only this, after delivery, the accused doctor forcibly snatched away the newborn baby and threatened to kill the couple.

Creepy web of ‘surrogacy’ woven in the name of repaying loan

According to the victim couple, they had accumulated a lot of debt after the love marriage. Taking advantage of this compulsion, an acquaintance introduced him to a renowned doctor of the city. The doctor claimed to be an IVF and surrogacy expert and assured to settle her loan. After this, a series of threats and deception started, which made the couple’s life hell. The accused took many blank stamp papers and copies of Aadhaar cards and trapped them in his clutches.

Raped after giving intoxicants, kept imprisoned under CCTV surveillance

High Court Advocate Krishna Kumar Kunhare told that the doctor first got the woman done for IVF thrice, but when that failed, she showed her true colours. The accused took the woman to a renowned hotel in the city, where she was given intoxicants and raped. After becoming pregnant, the couple was confined to a flat, where they were monitored 24 hours a day through CCTV cameras with audio.

‘A piece of liver’ snatched away as soon as he came out of the hospital

The most painful aspect of the incident came to light when the woman gave birth to a son in the ‘Motherhood Hospital’. It is alleged that the doctor and his henchmen snatched the child from the couple as soon as they were discharged from the hospital. When she protested, her husband’s mobile was formatted and he was threatened to be implicated in a false case. Later, when the couple requested to meet the child, they were called to Dussehra ground and a pistol was pointed at their temples.

Fake death certificate and conspiracy to flee abroad

In the complaint given to Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, the victim said that the accused doctor had also prepared a fake death certificate and fake compensation documents of the child. The couple fears that the accused doctor may flee abroad with the child or may pose a threat to his life. Advocate Kunhare also pointed out that ‘commercial surrogacy’ is completely banned in India, yet influential people are exploiting helpless women.

At present, Indore Mahila Police Station has taken the matter seriously and started investigation. Keeping in mind the safety of the victim and the child, the name of the accused doctor has not been disclosed yet, but this incident has put the entire medical world in the dock.
