Priyanka Chopra earns praise as ‘capable’ star in ‘The Bluff’

Priyanka Chopra Jonas gets cracking reviews for her new action drama The Bluff.

The new action film started streaming on Prime Video on Wednesday, February 25. Early reviews and critics have driven praise and recognition to the movie.

Major platforms and publications have highlighted Chopra Jonas’ acting, but reviews remain mixed overall.

Owen Myers of The Guardian was one of the earlier reviewers. Applauding the Global star acting, he wrote, “Chopra Jonas gamely commits to the pulpiness of The Bluff, even as it doesn’t ask much of her beyond its impressive action sequences and a few tart one-liners.”

Moreover, raising the way the film moves the audience through the story with flair and drama, Myers noted, “But there’s cinematic swoop to the movie that you might not expect.”

Moreover, George Simpson of the Daily Express (UK) called The Bluff“a bit trashy, but in the best and most explosive way possible.”

‘The Bluff’ isn’t a bad pirate movie,” William Bibbiani of TheWrap wrote. “If anything, it has so little competition these days that it’s probably ‘the best pirate movie in years’ by default. But that’s damning the film with faint praise, or possibly praising it with faint damnation.”

Challenging all the perspectives, Abhishek Srivastava of The Times of India stated, “While the script could have benefited from deeper character exploration, the film succeeds in showcasing Priyanka Chopra Jonas as a capable and confident action lead, proving she can command a large-scale adventure on her own terms.”

Overall, the reviews about the movie’s excellence itself remain mixed, but Chopra Jonas acting was doubtlessly applauded.
