Police interrogation revealed that on February 20, at around 4:30 am, there was a heated argument between the father and son over some issue. During this time, the dispute escalated so much that Akshat took out his father’s licensed rifle from under the pillow and shot him in the head. Manvendra died on the spot as soon as he was shot.

Surprisingly, Akshat’s minor sister was also an eyewitness to this entire incident, who was in the other room and reached there after hearing the noise. She saw her father falling in front of her eyes, but she got scared due to Akshat’s aggressive attitude and threats. Akshat told his sister in English, “I will handle this” And instructed him to stay away from this matter. After this she remained silent for several days due to fear.

Brutality with the dead body: online knives and saws from the market

The cruelty shown by Akshat in disposing of the dead body after the murder has surprised even the police. According to the police, the murder does not appear to be pre-planned as Akshat had ordered the knife online the day after the incident. When his attempt to cut the body with a knife failed, he himself went to the market and bought a saw.

The accused cut off the hands and legs of the body with a saw and packed them in packets and threw them at deserted places. The main body parts (head and torso) were hidden in a blue plastic drum kept in the house. He even tried to cover the drum with clothes and quilt to stop the foul smell coming from the dead body.

‘slaughter’ Inspiration from web series, conspiracy to mislead police

During interrogation, accused Akshat confessed that he had recently witnessed a ‘slaughter’ Influenced by the web series, he had learned the tricks of destroying evidence and disposing of the dead body. He tried to mislead the police a lot in the beginning. He fabricated the story that his father had left on the morning of 20 February saying he was going to Delhi and never returned.

Akshat had switched off all his three mobile phones so that the police could not find his location, although the last location the police found was in Kakori area. Later, he also tried to call his father’s death a suicide, but his fabricated stories could not stand the scrutiny of the police and he confessed to his crime.
