Haryana: Good news for farmers in Haryana, pending tube well connections will be released soon

Haryana News: Tube well electricity connections of 57 thousand farmers are pending in Haryana. Of these, there are 13,360 farmers who have deposited the full fee and they will be issued connections in the next six months. Energy Minister Anil Vij gave this information in the House.

Disclosure on Congress MLA’s question

The government presented these figures in response to an unstarred question by Congress MLA from Mulana Pooja Chaudhary. The MLA had sought year-wise details of applications received for tube well connections in the last 10 years, connections given and applications pending till January 31, 2026.

Farmers who pay fees will get connection within 6 months.

According to the government, demand notices have been issued to those who applied till 31 December 2023. The farmers who have deposited the full cost by January 31, 2026 include 4,241 farmers of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and 9,119 farmers of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam. Electricity connections will be issued to all of them within six months.

More than 43 thousand applications still pending

Tubewell connections of 43,527 farmers who applied between January 1, 2024 and January 31, 2026 are still pending. These include 16,323 farmers of North Haryana Electricity Distribution Corporation and 27,204 farmers of South Haryana Electricity Distribution Corporation. The government says that the decision to issue demand notices on these applications will be taken at the appropriate time.

Arrangement of solar pump up to 10 BHP

The government has also clarified that off-grid solar pumps up to 10 BHP are being given to the applicants, so that the farmers can get alternative irrigation facility and reduce their dependence on electricity.
