Share Market Update: Sensex rose 522 points, Nifty jumped 183 points, know where the buying continues?
Share Market Update: Sensex is trading up today, Wednesday, 25 February. It is trading at 82,748, up 522 points (0.64%). Nifty has also reached the level of 25,607, up by about 183 points (0.72%). There is buying interest in IT stocks in today’s trade.
Asian markets boom
- Japan’s Nikkei index is trading at 58,145, up 1.44%.
- South Korea’s Kospi has reached 6,100, up 2.19%.
- Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is trading at 26,805, up 0.81%.
- China’s Shanghai Composite Index is trading at 4,166, up 1.19%.
The US market declined on 24 February.
- The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 370 points (0.76%) to close at 49,174.
- The tech-based Nasdaq Composite closed 1.04% higher at 22,863.
- The S&P 500 rose 52 points (0.77%) to close at 6,890.
Foreign investors bought shares worth Rs 3,483 crore
Foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 102 crore on 23 February. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 3,161 crore.
So far this month, i.e. in February, FIIs have bought shares worth Rs 1,370 crore. During this period, DIIs bought shares worth Rs 15,980 crore.
In January 2026, FIIs sold shares worth a total of Rs 41,435 crore. During this period, DIIs bought shares worth Rs 69,220 crore.
Government is selling 4% stake in IRFC, floor price fixed at ₹104
The government is selling up to 4% of its stake in railway finance company IRFC. This sale is being done through Offer for Sale (OFS). This offer has opened today for non-retail investors. Retail investors will be able to submit their bids on Thursday, 26 February.
The floor price has been fixed at Rs 104 per share. On Tuesday, February 24, IRFC shares closed at Rs 109.40. This means that the government is offering shares to investors at a discount from the current price. However, today the stock has fallen by almost 4% to Rs 105.
Yesterday Sensex closed down 1069 points
The Sensex declined yesterday, Tuesday, February 24. It fell 1,069 points (1.28%) and closed at 82,226. Nifty also fell by 288 points (1.12%) to 25,425. IT and auto stocks were among the top sellers in yesterday’s trading.
