Stock Market Today: Stock markets rose due to buying in IT-Pharma companies, Sensex-Nifty rose as soon as the market opened.

Mumbai. Domestic stock markets Sensex and Nifty registered a rise in early trading. The market strengthened due to buying in IT shares and new investments by foreign investors. BSE Sensex rose 303 points to 82,579.16 in early trade while NSE Nifty rose 85.1 points to 25,567.60. Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, shares of Tech Mahindra, Infosys, HCL Tech, Eternal, Tata Consultancy Services and Maruti were the biggest gainers.

On the other hand, shares of InterGlobe Aviation, UltraTech Cement, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank were among the losers. In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi and Japan’s Nikkei 225 remained in positive territory while China’s SSE Composite and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng remained in decline. American markets closed with gains on Wednesday.

The price of international standard Brent crude stood at $ 71.03 per barrel with an increase of 0.25 percent. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were buyers on Wednesday and bought shares worth Rs 2,991.64 crore. At the same time, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) also bought shares worth Rs 5,118.57 crore.
