PM Modi’s dominance on Instagram also: Became the first leader in the world to cross the mark of 10 crore followers
New Delhi, 26 February 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has crossed the huge mark of 100 million (10 crore) followers on the social media platform Instagram. With this, he has become the first and only leader in the world to achieve this historic milestone on this popular social media platform. Since joining Instagram in 2014, over the past decade, PM Modi has made his account one of the most active and followed digital platforms among global leaders.
His popularity and presence on the platform is continuously increasing, which shows his strong strategy to connect with the people of the country and the world. Currently, PM Modi has the most followers on Instagram among the world’s top leaders. The special thing is that his number of followers is more than double that of American President Donald Trump. Not only this, even if the total number of followers of other five big leaders of the world is taken together, it is still less than the followers of Prime Minister Modi alone.
US President Donald Trump has 43.2 million followers, Indonesia’s Prabowo Subianto has 15 million, Brazil’s Lula da Silva has 14.4 million, Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan has 11.6 million and Argentina’s Javier Mileu has 6.4 million followers. PM Modi has 106.2 million followers on other social media platforms X and 54 million followers on Facebook. These figures prove his global reach and strong connection with the people.
If we talk about Indian politicians, PM Modi is far ahead of other leaders. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is second on Instagram with about 16.1 million followers, while Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has about 12.6 million followers.
According to the data till December 2025, Prime Minister Modi has got the highest approval rating among different leaders of the world. According to ‘Statista’ report, PM Modi’s approval rating is 70 percent, due to which he has topped the list of global leaders. Japanese Prime Minister Sane Takaichi is second with 63 percent rating, Argentina’s Javier Mili is third with 60 percent rating and American President Donald Trump is in 11th position with 43 percent rating.
According to the latest data collected by American business intelligence firm ‘Morning Consult’ between February 2 and February 8, PM Modi remains at the first position with 67 percent approval rating. Whereas, Donald Trump is in 11th place with 40 percent rating.
