Discussion of finding documents related to illegal mining
It is being told that during the raid, important clues related to tax evasion and benami properties have been found. The Income Tax Department has got hold of documents related to illegal mining in Sonbhadra and Mirzapur in the past years, which allegedly mention the names and payments of some officials. It is noteworthy that last year, the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) had revealed a revenue loss of about Rs 60 crore due to illegal mining in Sonbhadra.
