Swami Avimukteshwaranand Physical Abuse Case: Legal troubles have now become more serious for Jyotishpeeth’s Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati. The medical report of the police has given a shocking confirmation in the case of sexual exploitation of minor Batuks, after which the possibility of his arrest has now become stronger.
On Wednesday, in the case of sexual exploitation registered in Jhunsi police station of Prayagraj, the police had conducted medical examination of two victimized minor children. According to sources and media reports, the medical report has confirmed that both the minor children were raped. This report has now been included in the case diary as an important evidence. Complainant Ashutosh Brahmachari has also claimed that the indications of sexual exploitation are completely clear in the report, due to which it is certain that legal action will be taken against the accused Swamy and his associates.
POCSO court order, FIR in Jhunsi police station
This whole matter started when Jhunsi police, on the orders of ADJ Rape and POCSO Special Court, registered a case under the POCSO Act against Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, his disciple Mukundanand Giri and three other unidentified people. The names of two other accused, Arvind Mishra and Prakash Upadhyay, have also emerged in the police investigation so far. It is alleged that an incident of sexual exploitation of two Batuks was carried out during the Magh Mela. The police is now intensively investigating the role of other suspects in the ashram.

‘Anticipatory Bail’ in the High Court; But the hearing will take place tomorrow
Amidst the increasing fear of arrest, Swami Avimukteshwarananda has filed a petition for anticipatory bail in the Allahabad High Court. This important petition is to be heard on Friday, 27 February 2026 in a single bench of Justice Jitendra Kumar Sinha. Legal experts believe that it may be difficult to get relief from the High Court after the allegations are confirmed in the medical report. If the court rejects the anticipatory bail application, the Uttar Pradesh Police can arrest him at any time.
Ashutosh Brahmachari’s claim: Videos and photos exist
The main complainant in the case, Ashutosh Brahmachari, has come before the media and made many big claims. Showing a laptop, he claimed that he had enough photo and video evidence related to sexual exploitation of minors. Ashutosh alleged that not only saints but also big leaders and VIPs of many political parties are involved in this case. Apart from this, he has also made serious allegations of a scam of about Rs 3 to 4 crore in the ashram and trying to destroy evidence (like swimming pool etc.). According to him, the total victims may include around 20 boys and some women.
‘This is a conspiracy of the government’: Swami Avimukteshwarananda
On the other hand, Swami Avimukteshwarananda has completely rejected all these allegations, calling it a ‘conspiracy of the government’ Have agreed. He says that he will fully cooperate with the police in the investigation, but he does not trust the impartiality of the Uttar Pradesh Police.
