What is Privacy Display?

Privacy Display is an inbuilt screen technology that changes the projection of the phone’s display light in such a way that the screen appears almost black when viewed from a side angle or from above. While presenting it at the Galaxy Unpacked event, the company said that this feature has been specially designed to keep the personal information of the user safe. When this mode is active, the pixels visible at off-angle are switched off. The user looking from the front sees the content clearly, but the person sitting next to him sees only a dark screen.

How does Samsung Privacy Display work?

In this technology light control is done at pixel level. If the user wants, they can keep it always on or can set it for selected apps. Privacy Display will automatically activate as soon as the banking app, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram or Gmail is opened. With this, your personal chat, OTP, bank details or sensitive data will remain safe.

What are the disadvantages of Privacy Screen?

Usually people use privacy screen protectors, but this reduces the brightness and affects the viewing experience. This problem has been reduced to a great extent in Privacy Display. Although there may be a slight brightness adjustment, its impact on the user experience is said to be very minimal.
