Why did salaries increase so much in Telangana?
The Chief Secretary said that this huge increase in salary is due to the pay revision cycle. There is salary revision every four years in the electricity department, due to which the salary becomes much higher than other government departments. These attractive salary figures have created tough competition for government jobs in the state. Recently, an average of 799 candidates applied for each of the 563 Group-1 posts.
