In reply, Zimbabwe team could score only 184 runs for six wickets in the stipulated overs. Brian Bennett played an unbeaten inning of 97 runs for them.

Batting first, India scored 256 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. This is India’s highest score in the T20 World Cup. The team thus broke its 19-year-old record in the global tournament. Earlier in this tournament, India’s highest total was 218 runs for four wickets against England in 2007.

West Indies has hit more sixes in the current World Cup than India. West Indies team has hit 66 sixes so far.
Changed gear in last 30 balls
Indian batsmen changed gears in the last 30 balls, allowing the team to cross the 250-run mark for the first time in the T20 World Cup. After the end of 15 overs, India’s score was 176 runs for four wickets. After this, Tilak Verma and Hardik Pandya batted explosively. Both these batsmen scored 80 runs in the last five overs.
