Sanju Samson and Axar Patel Returns to India Lineup

T20WC 2026 IND vs ZIM Playing 11: Suryakumar Yadav-led India will square off against Sikandar Raza-led Zimbabwe in the 48th match of the T20 World Cup 2026 on February 26 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Both India and Zimbabwe suffered a defeat in their Super 8s game, which they played against South Africa and the West Indies, respectively, securing the bottom two spots in the T20 World Cup 2026 points table.

With a low run rate, both will be aiming for a big margin win to keep their qualification chances for the semifinals alive.

India and Zimbabwe have met on 13 occasions, where the Men in Blues have a dominating win percentage of 10 victories, while Zimbabweans have 3 victories.

Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking at the toss, Sikandar Raza said, “We’re going to have a bowl. Not your usual Chennai wicket. Looks moist, want to give the best chance to the seamers.”

“If we can restrict India to a low total, will go a long way. As much as we’re feeling the heat, our opposition will be feeling the same. It’s holding on alright. One tactical change, Cremer misses out,” concluded Sikandar Raza.

Meanwhile Suryakumar Yadav said, “Happy with the decision, were looking to bat first. Boys are ready. Mood in the camp is relaxed. Huddle was too good, the way he spoke in the huddle (Hardik). Even if you win or lose, you learn something out of it. Just forget what happened in the last game.”

Speaking on today’s India cricket team playing 11, SKY said, “Two changes- Axar comes in for Washington, Samson comes in for Rinku.
