Demand to give Bharat Ratna to Veer Savarkar, proposal will be sent to the Center

The demand for giving Bharat Ratna to freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar has been raised strongly in the Maharashtra Legislative Council (Veer Savarkar Bharat Ratna Demand). Bharatiya Janata Party Raising this issue in the House on Thursday, K MLC Prasad Lad proposed to honor Savarkar with the country’s highest civilian honour. According to the information, this proposal will be sent to the Central Government and the Prime Minister.

Prasad Lad said that Veer Savarkar dedicated his entire life for the independence of the country and his contribution is extremely important in Indian history. He said that the British rule was also influenced and worried by Savarkar’s thoughts and writings. Awarding Bharat Ratna to such a great freedom fighter would be a fitting recognition of his contribution.

He also informed that a proposal in this regard has been placed in the Legislative Council and after the consent of the Chairman, it will be sent to the Central Government (Veer Savarkar Bharat Ratna Demand) for further processing. State government minister Chandrakant Patil has also shown a positive attitude on this proposal, which has strengthened the possibility of taking this initiative forward.

Prasad Lad said that Veer Savarkar’s contribution was not limited only to the freedom struggle, but he also tried to give a new direction to the country at the social and ideological level. He expressed confidence that in the coming time the Central Government will consider this proposal and Savarkar can be honored with Bharat Ratna.

This demand raised on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Veer Savarkar is being considered important from political and historical point of view (Veer Savarkar Bharat Ratna Demand). This proposal will now go under consideration of the Central Government, after which the final decision will be taken.
