The family was a resident of Patna district of Bihar. Anita was living in a rented house with her husband Manchun Kevat and three daughters. The accused husband Manchun works as a ginger seller in Azadpur market.

Police have registered a case under section 103(1) (murder) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). According to the police, the last location of accused Manchun was found in Jahangirpuri, where his phone was switched off. Many teams are busy searching for him. Investigation has revealed that the accused was seen on CCTV running away from the area at around 5.0 am.
